Capturing Your Story Through Photography and Film
I am Omer Ali, a filmmaker and photographer who finds great joy in being creative. Since 2017, I have been involved in filmmaking, and in 2018, I had the opportunity to showcase my first project, which marked the beginning of an exciting journey. I am passionate about filmmaking because it allows me to explore different roles and add my unique touch to each project, which is incredibly fulfilling. Patience is key, and I believe that with time, everything will fall into place.
Throughout my career, I have achieved several notable accomplishments. In February 2020, I received the Most Helpful award for my performance in Little Shop of Horrors at Strode College. Additionally, I was a finalist for the Media Student of the Year Award in the academic year 2021-2022, and I won the Highly Commended for the Success Against the Odds Award in the same academic year.
Currently, I hold the position of Founder/Creative Director at Livo Production LTD in the United Kingdom, starting in September 2021. I am also working as a freelance photographer at ClubCam LTD, Clxx Group, and Licklist LTD in Southwest England, starting from November 2023, August 2023, and March 2023, respectively. Furthermore, I have been a freelance filmmaker at Somerset Film since November 2021, and I also work as a Support Worker at Voyage Care in Somerset since June 2022. In the past, I worked as a Filmmaker/Photographer at Somerset Skills and Learning from September 2019 to November 2019.
In terms of my education, I have acquired various skills and knowledge. I received training in computer software and Microsoft Office from the Sardam Centre in Erbil, Iraq. I also gained my drawing skills at the same center. Additionally, I gained expertise in photography through the Sardam Centre in Erbil, Iraq. Furthermore, I studied Human Rights at the Barzani Charity Organization in Erbil, Iraq. In terms of formal education, I completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology at Strode College in Street, SOM in the academic year 2021-2022. Prior to that, I obtained a Level 1/2 qualification in Creative Media and Technology from the same college in the academic year 2019-2020.
